Clowns Without Borders South Africa (CWBSA) is seeking a Western Cape based Afrikaans speaking workshop facilitator. The candidate will work as a co-facilitator for CWBSA’s Our Story Your Story (OSYS) project as an Independent Contractor.
is an artist-led humanitarian organisation dedicated to improving the psychosocial condition of children and communities in areas of crisis through laughter and play.
The OSYS project aims to build bridges within and between communities in South Africa through autobiographical storytelling
OSYS has been generously funded by Rand Merchant Bank to implement a series of intercultural workshops in Touwsranten near Wilderness in the Western Cape Province throughout 2017.
-The responsibilities of the facilitator include but are not limited to the following:
-Assist OSYS head facilitator to plan and prepare for all workshops
-Co-facilitate all workshops
-Interpret all workshops from Afrikaans into English
-Assist in planning of storytelling community events
-Assist with Monitoring & Evaluation, and Reporting
-Assist with administrative tasks
All candidates that are interested in participating in the OSYS project must have the following qualifications:
-Energetic, self-motivated, flexible, open-minded, eager to learn
-Experience in storytelling/poetry/creative education/drama
-Experience facilitating workshops in community development settings
-Fluent in Afrikaans and English
-Available to travel back and forth from Touwsranten throughout 2017
-A valid driver’s license (desired but not essential).
