J29 | JOHANNESBURG | 2012
J29 Community Care – The mission of the NPO embodies the concept of future hope. J29 seeks to empower individuals to take charge of their lives despite their current circumstance.
This Performance Tour happened in the urban slums of Johannesburg before the implementation of our Injabulo Family Project which ran from 22 October to 2 November. Nadia Woodward and Sibongile Tsoanyane spent 10 days in the field, working with guardians and children in Thokoza, Palmridge in a Tent opposite Chivrikani Primary School. The tent was situated at a fairly central point in the township. It was close to the main road and a few of our participants attended the school opposite. Our partner, J29 Community Care, run a food parcel programme and work closely with volunteers in the community.
