ABOUT

Clowns without Borders South Africa performed with the People’s Educational Theatre (PET) at the Bushfire Festival in Swaziland from 27-29 May. It was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about our work and connect our partners in Swaziland to greater artistic and professional opportunities. The Bushfire Festival is the biggest arts festival in Swaziland attracting local and international performers from around the world. As part of a Breadline Africa funded project called Vuka Mphakathi (Awakening Our Community), we trained local Swazi artists from PET in clown performance over 2 weeks. After the Bushfire Festival, we performed in schools throughout Mbabane for children affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty.
