MOZAMBIQUE | BUZI DISTRICT | 2019
This was a joint collaboration with CWB UK with partners, PLAN International, AJOAGO and Companhia de Artes Makwerhu https://www.facebook.com/pg/companhiadeartesmakwerhu/posts/
The aim of this project was to alleviate suffering amongst children and families affected by Cyclones Kenneth and Idai in Mozambique, as well as ensuring through capacity building that non-governmental and government staff as well as community members will continue with these initiatives, when Clowns Without Borders are no longer in the country. CWB worked in Buzi District at 9 child friendly spaces coordinated by Plan International, as well working with out of school children. The target groups were children, PLAN animators and community members at each child friendly space and surrounding communities. The project focused on a 20-day tour comprising performances and workshops targeting 9 child friendly spaces with an additional day to reach out to out of school children. There was also a workshop for 19 animators and activists. The key focus will also be to develop through assessments and negotiations, a longer term intervention with formalised capacity building workshops and supporting resources in 2020.
