Executive Director, Jamie Lachman, was at the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark, this week for the annual LEGO® ideas conference. The theme for this year’s conference was ‘Unlocking the Power of Parenting’ and Jamie was invited to contribute to the closing ‘playnary’ along with Ziauddin Yousafzi from the Malala Fund.
The presentation focussed on the A, B, Cs of delivering positive parenting programmes at scale. He introduced the Parenting for Lifelong Health programme, which he was involved in developing, implementing, training and evaluating. He talked about the evidence base for the effectiveness of ‘PLH’, and the importance of partnering with existing service providers, as the team have done in South Africa, Montenegro, Thailand and the Philippines.
Jamie closed the ‘playnary’ with a performance on his banjo – an appropriately playful end to a fascinating conference at the home of Lego.
